How card payments work at brokers

Paying with a Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card is the most familiar way to fund a trading account, and deposits usually arrive within minutes. Withdrawals work differently. Most brokers send money back to the card first, up to the amount you deposited with it, and pay any profit above that by another method such as a bank transfer — a common anti-money-laundering rule.
