Overview

Tickmill is the trading name of the Tickmill Group of companies, a forex and CFD broker. Its global site, tickmill.com, is run by Tickmill Ltd in the Seychelles; a switch at the top of the site leads to the UK, EU and South African companies. The pages we checked give no founding year or head office. All facts in this review were checked on 14 October 2026.

Licences and who they cover

  • Tickmill Ltd: Seychelles FSA, securities dealer licence SD008; the FSA register lists it as a securities dealer. Runs the global site; leverage up to 1:1000 (1:500 on MT4).
  • Tickmill UK Ltd: FCA (UK), register number 717270.
  • Tickmill UK Ltd, Dubai office: DFSA reference F007663. Tickmill describes it as a representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
  • Tickmill Europe Ltd: CySEC licence 278/15, also on the CySEC register.
  • Tickmill South Africa (Pty) Ltd: FSCA, FSP 49464.

Tickmill Europe Ltd states that 74% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with it; Tickmill UK Ltd states 68%. The global site gives no percentage and warns that losses can exceed the initial investment.

The global site says its services are not directed at people in Singapore, the United States, Iran, India, Japan or any country where they would be unlawful. It does not say which countries each company serves.

Accounts and costs

All three accounts have a starting deposit of 100 USD (it may vary with the base currency) and a minimum trade of 0.01 lot.

  • Classic: spreads from 1.6 pips and no commission; MT4 and MT5; base currency USD, EUR, GBP or ZAR.
  • Raw: spreads from 0.0 pips plus 3 USD per lot per side (6 USD round turn); MT4 and MT5; USD, EUR, GBP or ZAR.
  • TradingView Raw: spreads from 0.0 pips plus 3.5 USD per lot per side (7 USD round turn); Tickmill Trader, Tickmill’s own platform, and TradingView; USD only; Expert Advisors are not allowed.

Swap-free (Islamic) accounts are available on all account types for eligible clients. A Classic or Raw account is converted on request through the Client Area or Support. Instead of swaps, a handling fee per lot applies on selected instruments after a number of charge-free days, and long positions in crypto CFDs pay a 10% yearly charge after five swap-free days.

Deposits and withdrawals

Tickmill lists bank wire, credit and debit cards, crypto payments, Skrill, Neteller and UnionPay, and notes that some options are only available in certain countries. It charges no deposit or withdrawal fees, although banks and e-wallets may charge their own.

  • Bank wire: processed within 1 working day, arriving in 2–7 working days. Tickmill refunds bank fees, up to USD 100, on single deposits of USD 5,000 or more.
  • Visa and Mastercard: instant deposits; withdrawals processed within 1 working day, arriving in up to 8 working days.
  • Skrill and Neteller: instant deposits; withdrawals processed within 1 working day.

The minimum withdrawal is 25 for every method. Withdrawals go back to the method used to deposit: card withdrawals are limited to the amount deposited by card, and the rest goes to another method. We saw no mobile money or other local African or Latin American methods on the global site.

Before you open an account

  • Check which Tickmill company will hold your account; the regulator and any compensation scheme depend on it.
  • Compare Classic and Raw costs for the size you trade.
  • If you need a swap-free account, request the conversion and read the handling-fee table.
  • Use the same method for deposits and withdrawals where you can.
