Ranked by our score where we have tested the broker; otherwise by its average user rating on app stores and TradingView, adjusted for the number of ratings, with the same bonus for a local licence and local payment methods.

In Ghana, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Ghana) regulates the securities market, publishes a list of the operators it has licensed and warns the public about schemes it has not licensed. In a public notice of 25 July 2025 it cautioned the public about a rise in fraudulent investment schemes, noted that they “often promise unreasonably high returns within the shortest possible time”, and advised the public to contact the SEC or visit its website “to confirm the licensing status of any entity offering products or services relating to investments in the Capital Market.” We have not yet quoted a Ghanaian regulator on online forex or CFD trading itself, so this page draws no conclusion about it.

To check a company, open the SEC’s list of licensees on its own website (licensees.sec.gov.gh) or call its toll-free line, and compare the name with the company named in the broker’s client agreement and website footer. On 28 October 2026 the list grouped operators by type, such as broker-dealers, fund managers and investment advisers, with no separate category for online forex or CFD brokers. None of the brokers in our data names a company licensed in Ghana: those whose country lists include Ghana would open your account with a company licensed or registered in another country.

For deposits, Axi’s Africa payments page lists “Local Mobile Money” with Ghanaian cedis (GHS) among its currencies, from USD 5. The other brokers in our data list cards, bank transfers, e-wallets or USDT without a method specific to Ghana. Each broker’s review lists its fees and processing times, which can change.

Forex and CFDs traded with leverage are high-risk products. Several brokers publish, for their European or Kenyan companies, the share of retail accounts that lose money: 73.46% at IC Markets (EU) Ltd, 74% at Tickmill Europe Ltd, 74.1% at Pepperstone EU Limited, 77% at XTB Limited (CySEC) and 80% at FXPesa. The companies that serve Ghana may publish no figure at all, and some offer very high leverage: up to 1:1000 at Tickmill Ltd in the Seychelles, whose site warns that “Losses can exceed the initial investment.”

Brokers the editor has tested are ranked by the overall score out of 5 (regulation and safety 30%, trading costs 20%, deposits and withdrawals 15%, our account test 15%, platforms and tools 10%, support and language 10%); brokers we have not tested yet are ranked by their average user rating on app stores and TradingView, adjusted for the number of ratings (those platforms’ users’ ratings, not a Wealth.cat score). Both get 0.3 for a licence from a Ghanaian regulator and 0.1 for each local payment method, up to 0.3. When we test a broker, we sample spreads during the London and New York sessions and add the commission per lot, and we deposit and withdraw with local methods to record how long the money takes. Only brokers whose own pages accept residents of Ghana can appear, and a broker drops out when its facts were last checked more than 180 days ago.
