Overview
Bitso is a crypto platform focused on Latin America. Its website presents the accounts and services of The Badger Technology Company Limited (“Bitso International”) and its affiliates. The pages we checked on 18 October 2026 give no founding year or head office; the home page says Bitso has been operating “for over a decade”.
Licences and registrations
- The Badger Technology Company Limited (Gibraltar): runs all cryptocurrency operations and holds a distributed ledger technology (DLT) licence from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, FSC1348B.
- Bitso Argentina: registered as a virtual asset service provider with Argentina’s CNV under No. 164; the CNV register lists it as The Badger Technology Company Argentina S.A.U. Bitso says it is not a financial entity.
- Nvio Pagos Argentina S.A.U.: handles Argentine pesos; registered with the central bank (BCRA) as a payment service provider offering payment accounts, No. 34,502.
- Nvio Pagos México, S.A.P.I. de C.V.: handles Mexican pesos as an electronic payment institution; the Official Gazette shows the CNBV’s authorisation P022/2020, under the supervision of the CNBV and the Banco de México.
- Nvio Brasil Bitso Instituição de Pagamento Ltda.: handles Brazilian reais; Bitso says it is regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil, without a licence number.
Colombian pesos go through Nvio Pagos Colombia S.A.S., for which Bitso names no regulator. We could not open the GFSC register (it showed a bot check).
Who can use Bitso
Bitso International’s terms list 35 prohibited jurisdictions, among them the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran and Libya. The home page adds that its services are not available to residents of Spain. Bitso’s pages describe no services aimed at Africa or the Middle East.
Trading fees
Bitso publishes one fee table per market. At the lowest volume tier, markets in Mexican pesos cost 0.60% for makers and 0.78% for takers; USD (USDC) and USDT markets 0.30% and 0.36%; Argentine pesos 0.45% and 0.60%; Colombian pesos 0.50% and 0.65%; Brazilian reais 0.20% and 0.40%. These fees apply to Bitso International’s exchange.
USDT and other withdrawals
Bitso charges fixed withdrawal fees: USDT costs 3.4 USDT on Tron (TRC-20), 0.02 USDT on Ethereum, 0.01 USDT on Polygon and 0.75 USDT on Solana. USDC withdrawals cost between 0.01 and 0.22 USD depending on the network, and Bitcoin over Lightning is free. Crypto deposits are free. The fee page shows no minimum amounts.
Local currency deposits and withdrawals
- Mexico: SPEI bank transfers, free (deposits within 24 hours).
- Brazil: PIX, free (deposits in under a minute).
- Argentina: bank transfers through COELSA, free and instant.
- Colombia: bank transfers, free (deposits within 24 hours, withdrawals within 48 business hours).
Transfers between Bitso users are free and instant.
Earnings and proof of solvency
Bitso “Earnings” pays a weekly yield on eligible assets every Monday, with no fixed term; the crypto you hold can still fall in value, so a yield does not protect you from losses. Bitso also publishes a “Proof of Solvency” page based on zero-knowledge proofs; account holders can check their BTC and ETH balances against it.
What we could not confirm
We found no P2P market, no futures and no withdrawal minimums on the pages we checked, and no licence number for the Brazilian payment company. We have not tested Bitso with our own account yet; this review will be updated when we do.
