Forex profit and loss calculator
Calculate the profit or loss of a forex or gold trade in pips and in your account currency, for buys and sells.
How it works
Profit = (close − open) × contract size × lots, in the quote currency. A sell flips the sign. The result is then converted into your account currency at the rate when the trade closes.
Example: buying 1 lot of EUR/USD at 1.0800 and closing at 1.0850 is a 50-pip move: 0.0050 × 100,000 = $500. Selling into the same move would lose $500.
What is not included
Spread, commission and swap (overnight financing) are not deducted — check your broker’s contract specifications. For gold (XAU/USD) the calculator uses 100 ounces per lot and a pip of 0.10; brokers differ, so compare with yours.
